This month's Open Day at Free 3D Hands brought together an incredible show of community support, with attendees travelling to Phillip Island to learn more about the charity's unique and inspiring work.
Some visitors even made the journey all the way from NSW, highlighting the growing interest in what this small, locally based organisation is achieving on a global scale.
Guests were fascinated to discover how Free 3D Hands designs and produces custom 3D-printed assistive devices for people around the world - completely free of charge. From live demonstrations to meaningful conversations, the day showcased not only the innovation behind the technology but also the compassion and purpose driving it.
At the heart of it all is Mat Bowtell, the remarkable individual behind the organisation, whose vision, generosity, and tireless dedication continues to transform lives.
Many attendees left inspired, not just by the devices themselves, but by the story and impact behind the work.
"The day was also made possible by the generosity of the wider community," a Free 3D Hands spokesperson said.
"A special thank you goes to Island Organics for supporting the event and running a BBQ out the front, as well as to the local businesses who donated supplies and the many individuals who contributed donations on the day.
"This collective effort truly reflected the spirit of community that surrounds Free 3D Hands."
