PICAL has sent a heartfelt thank you to the community for its support for this year’s Christmas Hampers.

The amount of donations has meant PICAL is able to provide hundreds of hampers this Christmas.

PICAL had around 115 adults and 150 children sign up to receive a hamper, and thanks to the community’s contributions, there is enough food to fill them all.

“Thanks so much to everyone who gave to our Christmas Hampers this year,” said Grace Wilkinson, a volunteer at PICAL organising the hampers.

The contributions have come from many different businesses, community groups and individuals.

PICAL has also been able to provide toys to the children Christmas hampers from surplus stock from the Baptist Church Motorcycle Toy Run.

Grace said the hampers will be available for collection this week, until Friday December 22.

“As an extra treat, we also have a limited number of biscuits available that were made last week by San Remo campus Secondary School Students.”

Volunteers

PICAL also received a good response to its call out for extra volunteers to help at the food pantry, with several new volunteers now on board.

The organisation is now hoping some more volunteers will be able to help with the front office and garden teams.

If you’d like to enquire about volunteering please contact reception on 03 5952 1131 or call David Rooks – Centre Manager direct on 0400 655 540.

Alternatively, go the PICAL website and complete the volunteer application form online: www.pical.org.au/volunteer
