PICAL delivers turkey treats

PICAL’s 2020 Christmas Hamper effort just prior to Christmas certainly helped to bring a little festive cheer to those struggling at the end of such a difficult year.
Over 207 festive hampers were delivered across the island, bringing a happy smile to the faces of the individuals and families who received them.
Greg Thompson, PICAL General Manager, said there were many people involved in putting the hampers together, and many local businesses and individuals had provided the goods to fill them.
“This wonderful effort was made possible by PICAL staff and volunteers, including Emma Le Mar and Courtney Wallace,” said Greg.

He also thanked members of St Vincent de Paul Conference in Cowes and members of Cowes CWA for their contribution, as well as Rhyll Boomerang Bags and the Phillip Island Community Services Group (which is all the local Cowes Churches and charities) for some “fantastic” donations.
Steph Thornborrow’s PICAL Casserole team of volunteers also cooked 148 delicious roast turkey dinners which were handed out in the week leading up to Christmas.
Normal operating hours resume at PICAL from Monday, January 11.
