PICES Pop Up Art Exhibition- Week 3
Following on the success of last year’s Pop-Up Exhibitions, the Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space (PICES) is now presenting its second series of five weekly exhibitions featuring 24 individual artists from Phillip Island, Bass Coast and nearby regions.
The exhibitions will be held in the Garden Room 3 at Phillip Island Community Adult Learning Centre (PICAL), 56- 58 Church St Cowes.
Running over five weeks from December 30 to February 1, the exhibitions will be open six days a week from 10am to 4pm.
The pop-up exhibition will close each Tuesday to allow for Curator, Catherine Robinson, to completely renew the exhibition with different works for visitors and locals to enjoy.
Catherine has collected a wonderful selection of artists and art works including paintings, photography, ceramics, wood sculpture, shell and recycled material sculpture, lino and woodblock prints.
Visitors will be surprised at the variety and talent of these artists whose works will be available for sale during the exhibition.
Last year the Pop-Up Exhibition was attended by over 800 enthusiastic art lovers. Community feedback demonstrated strong support for a permanent exhibition space on Phillip Island.
PICES sees the inclusion of an Art Gallery within the proposed Cowes Community Cultural Centre as an encouraging sign for the future.

Exciting COVID-19 video project and exhibition
Four artists feature in the innovative COVID-19 Resilience Video which gathers together the feelings and work of these artists during the pandemic lockdown.
The video will screen in conjunction with an exhibition of their work. Each artist has been interviewed in their studio and/or environments to provide the viewer with an understanding of the impact that COVID-19 had on their work over the past months. The Resilience Video Project has been funded by Bass Coast Shire Council and Regional Arts Victoria.
