Presenting The Swinging Cat’s Pyjamas
Performing at Phillip Island Jazz Club on July 18 will be island first timers The Swinging Cat's Pyjamas.
The afternoon performance from 2pm to 4.30pm is in the Bass Room at Ramada Resort, 2128 Phillip Island Road, Cowes
The group consists of Laura Koomen on vocals, who is a leading member of jazz vocal ensemble “Vocal Entendre”.
Amanda Jones on clarinet and arranging has a rich background in big band music. Since moving to Melbourne, Amanda has been exploring the repertoire of Django Reinhardt and also became a founding member of The Swinging Cat’s Pyjamas.
Guitarist Adam Russo has been quietly carving out a niche as a gifted guitarist and banjo player in Melbourne’s traditional jazz scene over the last decade.
Tom Flenady is an in-demand bass player with performance credits including work with the Furbelows, Big and Easy Jazz Band and Jazz Manouche group “Viper’s Dream Swing Team.
If you like jazz with a difference, this show is for you. You will experience everything from swing to gypsy jazz presented in the group’s own special way.
