Phillip Island made the perfect start, kicking the opening two goals to set the
tone in a hard-fought 61-47 victory over Inverloch-Kongwak.
Despite the wet, muddy and slippery conditions at Cowes, the Bulldogs displayed
great skill and composure with the ball, making the most of their early opportunities.
Inverloch-Kongwak refused to go away, matching the Islandersfor much of the contest and keeping the pressure on all afternoon.
Phillip Island led at every change, taking a 25-9 lead into quarter timebefore extending the margin to 38-29 at the main break.
The Bulldogs maintained their advantage through the second half to secure an important 14-point win.
