There’s great news for the kids in San Remo on Friday.

The much-loved cartoon character Bluey is coming to San Remo Hotel new bridge lawn outside the pub.

Kids can have a photo with Bluey for a gold coin donation, and there is face painting as well. All proceeds to the Good Friday Appeal.

As always it will be a busy day raising funds for this important cause in the town.

San Remo’s fire trucks will be out in force, with members on board and walking behind the trucks collecting for the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal.

The San Remo brigade is managing the local effort, and its members will be out in force rattling tins at San Remo, Newhaven, Cape Woolamai Surf Beach and Sunderland Bay from 9am and throughout the day.

San Remo’s annual Good Friday Easter Hamper Raffle will be run this year from the Westernport Hotel.

And festivities will continue throughout the weekend with two well-known bands playing at the pub. The Laing Brothers will entertain on Saturday night, and the hotel will welcome Nicko on Easter Sunday.

Appeal headquarters, where donations can be dropped throughout the day, is the CFA fire station, in Genesta Street.
