Bass Coast TAC L2P program is excited to locate a program vehicle in San Remo, enabling better access to the program for participants living around San Remo and Phillip Island.

Silverwater Resort will house the car and San Remo Community Bendigo Bank have provided generous sponsorship towards running the program.

The L2P program matches young learner drivers who don’t have access to a suitable supervising driver or vehicle with volunteer driving mentors who use the program cars to provide supervised driving sessions.

This supports young people to reach the 120 hours supervised driving practise required to get their drivers licence and to be safe and competent drivers.

“Having a car locally will make it much easier for learner drivers living around San Remo and Phillip Island to access the program,” Bass Coast TAC L2P program coordinator Melanie Mumford said.

“It allows mentors to spend less time travelling to pick up cars and more time mentoring learners drivers.

“We truly appreciate the support of Silverwater Resort and the Bendigo Bank in making this possible.”

Anyone interested in joining the Bass Coast TAC L2P program as a learner or a volunteer mentor driver can visit www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/licences/your-ps/get-your-ps/preparing-for-your-licence-test/l2p-learner-driver-mentor-program or contact program coordinator Melanie Mumford on 0467 590 679.
