School strike for climate
A peaceful school strike this Friday, to demonstrate that the community wants climate action.
The strike will take place from 9am – 10.30am on Friday, May 13 at The Esplanade in Cowes.
“I feel really passionately about preserving Australia's natural beauty and ensuring a safe and happy future for everyone by tackling the climate crisis," said organiser, 14-year-old Joey Thompson
“I have organised a peaceful school strike and protest to demonstrate how our community wants climate action from politicians in the upcoming election.”
He hopes everyone in the community who shares his concern about climate change will come along and show their support.
The event has approval from Victoria Police and council and is in coordination with School Strike 4 Climate Australia.
