Veterans to have their say

The state government has commissioned the third veterans Sector Study, an assessment of the needs and priorities of veterans and their families, as well as the ex-service and community organisations that support them.

Veterans, their families and ex-service and other community organisations can contribute to the study until May 8 by completing an online survey or participating in one of the in-person consultations being held across the state.

Road safe grants

Community groups can receive grants of up to $30,000 to address local road safety issues, as part of the TAC Community Road Safety Grant Program.

The program covers a wide range of road safety issues – including speed limit, drink driving and education, as well as pedestrian, motorcyclist and cyclist safety. Projects that focus on protecting vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists will be prioritised.

Your say on 2035 emissions target

Help shape the state’s interim emissions reduction target for 2035.

In addition to playing a role in setting Victoria’s targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions between 2031 and 2035, the community will be able to also have their say on opportunities to cut emissions and pathways to net-zero emissions.

An online survey has been designed specifically for young people – as the section of the community who will bear the brunt of climate change and have been leading the call for action.

Zero emissions vehicle subsidy

More than 4000 Victorians have taken up the state government’s Zero Emissions Vehicle subsidy, with subsidies of $3000 available for Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) under $68,740.

Learn Local Awards

Nominations are now open for the 16th annual Victorian Learn Local Awards, recognising excellence in the adult and community education sector.

Categories at this year’s event celebrate trainers, leaders and learners as well as learn local programs. The prize pool totals $84,000, while organisation award category winners each receive $10,000, individual category winners $5000 and category finalists $1000.

Community History awards

Entries for the Victorian Community History Awards are now open.

The awards celebrate the people involved in community history projects who are dedicated to telling local stories which help all Victorians to better understand their past.

Seniors travel vouchers

A further 10,000 vouchers are now available as part of the popular Seniors Travel Voucher scheme.

The vouchers for travel up until May 27, will be distributed to eligible seniors who have previously applied through the ballot and can be used for accommodation, tours and experiences across the state.

The Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program allows you to claim 25 per cent rebates when you spend at least $40 on entertainment any day of the week, anywhere in the state.
