Shortstack - grants and opportunities
The latest news on grants and opportunities.
Grants for school upgrades
Victorian government schools can now apply for grants to help fund small scale projects under the government's Capital Works Fund (CWF).
The initiative supports projects that improve the learning environment, condition, or character of government schools and makes our schools more inclusive for all students - including those with disabilities or additional needs.
Schools can apply for grants of up to $500,000 depending on the size of the project.
Schools can also apply for funding of up to $300,000 for infrastructure projects that make a difference in meeting the educational and social needs of children with disabilities or additional requirements. This includes inclusive playgrounds as well as inclusive indoor and outdoor learning areas.
Applications close Friday June 28. Details: schoolbuildings.vic.gov.au/capital-works-fund.
Civics education
The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters has released a survey on civics and citizenship education in Australian schools as part of its current inquiry. If you are a primary or secondary school student, a recent school leaver or an educator, the Committee wants to hear from you!
The Committee is investigating how civics forms part of the Australian curriculum, examining the importance of media literacy, and listening to the voices of young people about how best to improve civics education.
Further information about the inquiry is available on the inquiry website. www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/Joint/Electoral_Matters/Civicseducation/
All abilities sport
Applications are now open for the All Abilities Workforce and Sector Support Program - supporting organisations to build their workforce and training resources to help people with disability find a secure job in sport and recreation at all levels.
The program helps organisations create new opportunities for people with disability to get involved in sport by taking on roles as coaches, officials, team managers, administrators and board members across all levels of sport and recreation.
Regional areas are also set to benefit including funding to support co-designed projects for people with disability and for a Regional Co-ordinator to deliver projects.
