Blue Bulldogs deliver on game day

U10 Blue

The young Bulldogs were roaring to get into the action this week, playing away against arch-rivals Kilcunda-Bass on Sunday morning.

The opening quarter was evenly matched, with both teams locked in a fierce midfield contest.

In the second quarter, the Bulldogs found their rhythm, pushing forward with intensity.

Skipper Hugo Joyner took a spectacular mark in the goal square and converted cleanly for the Bulldogs’ first major.

Kensani Gardner added to the momentum, slotting two impressive goals before the main break.

Kilcunda-Bass responded strongly in the third quarter, dominating the midfield with repeated forward entries.

However, the Bulldogs' defence stood tall, keeping the Panthers goalless for the term.

The final quarter was a thrilling shootout, with both sides trading goals in a fast-paced finish.

It was another wonderful morning for the young Pups, who continue to grow both individually and as a team each week.

U12 Blue

Captain Zed Findlay led his team out after giving his speech.

Five quick points went to the Island, unlucky with four of them hitting the post.

First goal went to Kash Scheibel.

A really good start with Noah Hollings taking the game on moving the ball forward and Ollie Hellmuth-Pask had a great run with two bounces in his stride.

The Pups kept the opposition scoreless going into the break.

The second quarter was quiet for the Pups as they didn't add to the score, Killy-Bass bagged the only two goals scored for the quarter.

Rylan Lucas was working hard, and Sam Martindale did a great job moving the ball around.

Third quarter there was great moments, and the Pups had all the ball.

Sam Martindale assisted Kash Schiebel to bag his second goal.

Otis Joyner got plenty of touches and Nicolas Davidson was scouting around the pack.

Cody Naismith was directing the traffic well and kept Killy-Bass from scoring this quarter.

Last quarter saw Kash Schiebel take a strong mark and kick his third goal.

Cooper Bennett had solid body work and contributed a goal from a set shot.

Oscar Innes played hard, taking a strong mark in the forward with a centring kick.

This was the best quarter for the Pups as they played well as a team and really came together.

Despite a quick goal to Killy-Bass in the seconds before the siren the Pups were triumphant with breaking away to win 31-15.

U14 Blue

With the winter sun shining, the team scored early in the first quarter and remained in the lead for the game.

There was solid defence from Brax Scheibel, Miller Sund and Riley Whyte.

Contests were fought hard, and the centreline kept control enabling ball movement, pressure and linked play.

Tijian Coldora remained his lightning best, holding possessions and taking off at high speed.

Callum Chambers, Jax Marshall, Ry Sheers and Rocco Archer worked hard, with Ari De Fazio, Archie Dallinger and the Smith brothers Aiden and Spencer keeping the ball at Phillip Island’s end.

A full team effort resulted in goals and a win.

Phillip Island 54 defeated Killy Bass 20.
