People were back on the streets, in restaurants, cafes and bars and shops, as we enjoyed our first weekend out of lockdown.

Local school kids were also celebrating being able to get out and about with their friends. Grade 5 students Sam O’Garey (left) and Kai Cashman decided on a spot of fishing from the Cowes pier for their first outing together. Kai was rewarded with a flathead on the end of his line.

People were back on the streets, in restaurants, cafes and bars and shops, as we enjoyed our first weekend out of lockdown.

Under Step 3 of the government’s roadmap, there are no restrictions on when you can leave your home, and retail and hospitality has reopened, with an emphasis on outdoor dining. Social distancing requirements remain in place and masks are still mandatory.

Although Melbourne is still in lockdown, anyone from regional Victoria is allowed to visit other regional areas. It looks like plenty of us, and our neighbours, took advantage of the restrictions easing to enjoy a weekend by the coast.
