During November, cases numbers across Bass Coast remained relatively stable, starting the month on 33 and finishing on 37.

As people gear up for the summer holidays, local case numbers continue to climb.

Current numbers are almost three times the number of recorded cases during last year’s Covid case peak, with case numbers sitting between 30 and 40 for most of November.

As of Monday, December 6, the state government figures showed 45 recorded cases in the shire, with 22 on the island and San Remo.

Anyone with even the mildest Covid symptoms is urged to get tested and isolate until receiving a negative result.

The Cowes Drive Through Clinic at the Transit Station is currently operating from 9am – 2pm, seven days.

The Wonthaggi Drive Through Clinic at the old McBride St Campus of Wonthaggi Secondary College is open from 9am-4pm every day.

In the past fortnight, case numbers have started to climb on the Island and in San Remo, with Cowes now topping the shire for the most cases. Rhyll recorded its first case in December, after being Covid free since late-October.
