Tattoo lover aiming for the cover
Local woman Tracey Cupid is out to win the Inked Magazine Cover Girl competition.
Local woman Tracey Cupid is out to win the Inked Magazine Cover Girl competition.
The international competition lets the public vote on who should be on the next cover of the magazine.
Tracey is currently at the top of her group, but she said there is still a long way to go.
"Whilst that sounds great there's still 30,240 women competing worldwide.
"Next cut is Top 10 which will reduce to 20,160. Then goes Top 5, and then I need to stay first to move to quarter finals," she explained.
As part of the publicly voted competition Tracey is in the running to win $25,000, a trip to the Bahamas, photoshoot, and a tattoo from a world-renowned tattooist.
Tracey's tattoos are currently all done locally.
"I only go to local tattooist Lindsay Becker since 2017, who's now set up with Hectic Clothing in Cape Woolamai."
She says her current favourite tattoo is her "new left arm sleeve ... It's my first real go at getting colour in my ink journey".
She's hoping with the support of her Instagram and Facebook followers, plus the local community, she'll be able to keep moving up the competition rankings.
And if she wins?
"I would love to be able to buy a house and $25,000 would be a good start as a deposit.
"I want a permanent roof over our heads instead of the constant fear of our landlord deciding to sell, and we have to move again."
