After early rain, the weather was good for tennis.
Teams were looking for fill-ins for both sections this week but managed to field teams.
Alas scoresheets only show the score, not the rallies and recoveries in some of the games.
Inverloch won all sets against Leongatha North in Section 1 this round.
This match was one of those with rallies and recoveries but unfortunately for Leongatha North, no reward in the final result.
Korumburra v Westernport was the closest match of the section.
The Burra boys won all three sets, but the ladies had a tiebreaker each way – the other set going to Westernport.
The end result, Korumburra by one game.
Koonwarra and Leongatha had a good match, with the win going to Koony.
The young boys Luke Marshman and Harry Taylor-Smith kept the game alive for Leongatha, but unfortunately it wasn’t quite enough.
In Section 2 we had the Burra derby, with Green and Blue facing off.
Green were the winners this time, but it was an enjoyable day with all players appreciating the comradery.
Well done to all those players.
Outtrim showed their experience with a win over Leongatha Barty.
It’s always a lovely day out at Outtrim.
Baromi v Leongatha Millman was the match of the round this week in Section 2.
Baromi won all the men’s sets and the Millman ladies won all their sets keeping the game even before the mixed.
Games were level as second mixed battled it out and finished after a tiebreaker – the set going to Leongatha Millman, and thus the match.
It was a good day’s tennis all round with all players pleased to have the game up and running again.
