U12 Blue defeats Leongatha
Final score was PI 41 to Leongatha 0.
It was nothing like last week as the U12 Blues warmed up at home with still, cool conditions and no rain.
Leongatha Parrots came down to show their stuff and were fired up.
With captain for this week Bodhi’s pregame speech, the Doggies were pumped up and ready to give their all.
The Island won the opening ruck contest with great movement of the ball which led into the arms of our captain, who snapped one off the right boot from the pocket to put us on the board in the first two minutes.
Following minutes later with a similar passage of play, the ball once again landed in our captain’s arms and in almost identical fashion, put another through the posts from the pocket.
First quarter was dominated in the ruck and midfield getting the ball down our end, leaving Leongatha unable to score.
Second quarter saw both teams fighting it out hard with lots of hard tackling and great movement of the ball but it wasn’t reflecting on the scoreboard.
Second half kicked off with the Doggies showing signs of great control with strong commitment from the likes of Mason, Ryder, Kane and many others.
With many attempts at goal, accuracy was off a little and the commitment was still there from the Leongatha kids, never giving up.
Last goal for the day came from Balin who ended with two and a great game all round.
Final score was PI 41 to Leongatha 0.
Once again, a great effort by the whole team with all contributing to another solid convincing win.
