U14 Girls make breakthrough win over Parrots
Scores: Phillip Island: 11.5.71. Leongatha: 3.2.20.
It was a sunny Sunday morning as the U14 Girls made their way to Leongatha to the Velodrome Oval to take on the Parrots on their home ground turf.
The Phillip Island girls were lacking in numbers this week, so a keen Gemma and Maddie from the mixed team decided to run their legs ragged for a second game.
The first quarter saw the girls kick 2:1 to a yet to score Parrots. But Leongatha got back on the wagon during the second quarter scoring 2:1, leaving the Doggies scoreless throughout the second term.
With seven goals scored in the third quarter from the likes of "Macca", two goals each from Maddie and Brinkley, along with Phoenix who had two up her sleeve, the Bulldogs were back on track.
The Island girls had their first win and the team was on cloud nine.
Congratulations to Coach Justin Tilley for all the effort put in and to all the girls for their hard work.
Scores: Phillip Island: 11.5.71. Leongatha: 3.2.20.
