Phillip Island red played at home against Dalyston/Inverloch
U14s
The Phillip Island Bulldogs under 14 Reds arrived at home on Sunday ready to take on Dalyston.
The boys and coaching staff wore black arm bands in memory of May Webster, a life member of our club.
The team banded together and ensured everyone got involved, hunting the ball without mercy.
Once again, their ball movement was outstanding, as was the discipline in their playing structures.
Toby Davies wowed the crowd and team with an ‘Eddie Betts’ goal and the boys continued their scoreboard domination to take the win 65 to 0.
Best player mentions to Jake Hughes, Toby Davies, Lachie Eastwood and Ayden Fawaz.
Goals to: B. Caldwell; T. Davies; L. Eastwood; C. Edwards; W. Hill; F. O’Brien; C. O’Garey; W. Peppard; I. Savona; C. Walton; X. Williams; H. Womersley.
Coach Dan Larsson on behalf of Teagan and family, would also like to thank everyone for all the well wishes they have received on the birth of their daughter Imogen.
U12s
as a cold start this Sunday with the boys coming up against Dalyston-Inverloch at the kennel.
Dalyston-Inverloch came out strong, but our boys showed their skills with their ongoing improvements with moving the ball around the ground.
Jack Mascaros picked up a beauty off the ground with a skilled swerve away from his player.
Sam O’Garey put his defensive skills to the test, holding off his man allowing Caleb Cantwell to take an intercept mark.
We had tough pressure from the opposition but managed to keep them to one goal in the first quarter.
The Second quarter was all guns blazing with a quick goal from Lewie DeFazio.
Sonny Steiner was able to get a strong mark, one of many throughout the game.
If we thought the second quarter started well, the third was even better.
After a few near misses they were able to kick four goals-three of them bagged by Felix Bathgate.
Great clearances from the ruck allowed a smooth play down forward rewarding us on the scoreboard, 36-14 at three quarter time.
Our final quarter was another strong one, Duke Lawrence always around the ball supporting his teammates.
Flynn Denge kicked a great goal and Jackson Allan kicked his first goal for the season.
With a strong finish, the doggies were able to take out the match 50-15.
Congratulations to players Jesse Maschetti, Felix Bathgate, Sam Fairthorne & Sonny Steiner for their awards this week.
And to Dalyston-Inverloch for a great game.

U10s
The Under 10 red pups were pumped to be back at the Kennel to take on rivals Daylston.
While it was fresh with a wind chill factor of ice it didn’t take long for the PI boys to get fired up to play with this week’s team captain Jarrah “Jazz” Rutherford.
The pups put together a great first quarter with the ball locked in our forward 50 with Nash Hornsby and Ryan Hughes in and under feeding the ball out to the big boys and Captain Jazz selling some candy before slotting the first goal.
The second quarter was also played mainly in our forward 50 but after lending Daylston four of our boys Dustin “Dusty” Naismith was rock solid at full back for the opposition showing great sportsmanship and clearing kicks for the magpies.
Fortunately, our boys have learnt not to just follow the ball and our center half forwards in Harvey Galea and Ethan Hilton kept firing it back in giving Flynn Doig who had been running everywhere a shot after the siren.
The third quarter had Ziggy “Clifford” Wagner starting in the ruck giving us first chance at the ball with young Arie Defazio firing handballs in the forward line out to teammates in what was a tough quarter with Daylston hitting the scoreboard for the first time by one of our players Harvey Galea.
The kickout though from defense to our forward 50 with Nash Hornsby and Jazz teaming up was great to watch and showing how much the boys are learning.
The final quarter was raining goals for the pups with team captain Jazz finishing with a handful including a dribbler from the sideline.
Congrats to award winners Ethan Hilton, Arie Defazio, Tahj Piera and Ziggy “Clifford” Wagner.
