What does local climate action look like?
Deb Leonard and local energy expert Tony Wolfe will host a community conversation about what real climate action looks.
Local residents are invited to join Deb Leonard, independent candidate for the federal seat of Monash, and Tony Wolfe, a prominent local energy expert, for a discussion on energy transition, job creation, and the future of renewable energy in the region.
The event will be held from 6pm - 8pm, on Wednesday January 22, at Dirty Three Wines in Inverloch.
Tony Wolfe brings decades of experience as a senior plant operator at the Loy Yang coal power station in the Latrobe Valley, where he worked for over 40 years.
Tony has been at the forefront of advocating for fair job transition plans for coal workers and is a vocal supporter of renewable energy projects. He currently serves on the community advisory board for the Star of the South offshore wind farm, ensuring local voices are represented in major energy initiatives.
Deb Leonard, known for her commitment to genuine local representation is eager to discuss how an independent voice can better champion local interests and help accelerate action on the climate crisis.
"We don't have time to waste," said Deb.
"The climate crisis demands immediate and decisive action, and I want our region to be at the forefront of Australia's transition to renewable energy.
"This conversation is an opportunity for people to hear directly from an expert like Tony, who knows the challenges and opportunities we face."
This community event is free and open to all. Residents are encouraged to attend and be part of the conversation about how Monash can lead in renewable energy while protecting and supporting local workers.
