Zora's service recognised
Ms Zora Popovich of OLSS was awarded a Daniel Ahern Bursary as part of Catholic Education Week.
Ms Zora Popovich of Our Lady Star of the Sea Primary School in Cowes was awarded a Daniel Ahern Bursary at an awards ceremony as part of Catholic Education Week.
The bursary provides financial support to non-teaching staff employed in primary and secondary schools in the Diocese of Sale, who are presently undertaking teacher education studies.
Zora who works as an Education Support Officer at Our Lady Star of the Sea is described as having a natural rapport with students and is eager to learn and grow her skills and understanding of the individual needs of students.
She is looking forward to completing her university studies and teaching in a Catholic school.
The Awards presentation was held on May 17 at St Peter's College Clyde North campus.
Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Sale, Mr Paul Velten, congratulated all award recipients for the wonderful work they do.
"In all, twenty-five people from Catholic schools across the Diocese of Sale received awards. Three award recipients were from Catholic schools in the South Gippsland and Phillip Island areas. We are grateful for their leadership, service, and excellence."
Mrs Joanne Coldebella and Ms Kathleen Egan from St Joseph's Primary School, Wonthaggi were each awarded a service award in recognition of 25 years or more of service to Australian Catholic education. The two were among ten staff in the Diocese of Sale to receive a service award.
