While there are plenty of family-friendly activities across the weekend, the 2026 Island Whale Festival also offers a line-up of experiences designed for grown-ups.

From coastal storytelling and marine science to indulgent dining, wellness sessions, live music and creative workshops, it’s an invitation to slow down, connect and celebrate winter on Phillip Island.

Here's how to spend a whale-filled weekend made just for adults.

Live music - Wildlife Coast Cruises stage

Soak up the festival vibes and enjoy a weekend of live local music.
From chilled acoustic sets to upbeat island energy, we’re showcasing talented artists from across the region.

Stop by for the perfect soundtrack to your festival.

Ocean Film Festival

With a visually stunning line-up of films that celebrate the ocean from every angle - above the surface, beneath the waves and deep into the stories that connect us all to the sea, this is a night out for ocean lovers.

Featuring three films from Australian filmmakers, alongside three international films.

From high-stakes adventures and record-breaking journeys to intimate portraits of marine life and environmental restoration, the program is packed with breath-taking cinematography, inspiring characters, and a deep respect for the ocean and the communities that shape it.

Thurs 2, Fri 3 and Sun 5 July, 7pm. Tickets $28.

Berninneit Theatre

Whale Blessing Ceremony

A community gathering with Uncle Steve Parker to honour the annual migration of humpback and southern right whales along the coastline.

This peaceful event offers a moment to reflect on our connection to the ocean and the marine visitors that return each year.

Sat 4 July, 10am.

Western Port Down Under

Hear a presentation revealing the hidden ecosystems, marine life and conservation stories that exist beneath the surface of one of Victoria's most important marine environments.

Sat 4 July, 2pm, (included in the Festival Experience Pass)

Saturday night events

Finish the evening with a Candlelight Concert, where live music from The Cedar Collective and a warm atmosphere create the perfect winter festival experience.

Churchill Island

Phillip Island Sauna session

Clay & sip or clay & paint
