Expect live entertainment, hands-on displays, and opportunities to chat with marine scientists and local community groups.

Ocean Film Festival

Settle in for a cinematic plunge into the deep blue.

Featuring award-winning marine documentaries and underwater storytelling, this is an emotional, awe-filled journey into the lives of whales, seals, and ocean ecosystems rarely seen up close.

Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 7pm. Tickets from $28.

Killer Whales: The Wolves of the Sea

This is a festival highlight.

Experience an evening of storytelling, science and adventure with a special screening of Wolves of the Sea - the iconic killer whale documentary exploring the life cycle of this apex marine predator.

Filmed around the world and narrated by David Attenborough, this documentary brings together powerful cinematography and compelling stories that attempt to reveal the secret lives of killer whales.

From curious belly rubbing behaviour in Canada to the remarkable intentional beaching to hunt seals and sea lions in Argentina, this documentary will have you captivated from start to finish.

Before the screening, audiences will hear directly from acclaimed filmmaker David Parer and killer whale researcher David Donnelly in a panel discussion hosted by Belinda Smith.

A dive into dolphin science

A great stop for curious minds, especially older teens and young adults.
Learn how dolphin researchers use fins to track individuals and monitor populations in the field.

Hands-on, and a real-world introduction to marine fieldwork.

Explore ocean inspired works and connect with local artists who bring the marine world to life through paint, ceramics and mixed media.

Pair learning with wild views.

After a primer on local whale populations, head out on a guided land-based spotting session with researchers.

Hosted by Two Bays Whale Project and the Dolphin Research Institute.
