Don’t miss a special performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, in concert and full costume on June 12 at 2pm at St John’s Uniting Church, raising funds for Rubaga Youth Development Association (RYDA) in Uganda.
Presented by the Dandenong Ranges choir Singularity, with members of Island Harmony Choir as special guest performers, it will be a rollicking afternoon of swagger, romp and musical mayhem with arrrfters in the stern at the captain's table!
All the performers are donating their time and talent to help St John’s raise funds for RYDA, which provides vocational and life skill training for orphaned and vulnerable youths (12-18 male and female) in Uganda. They are currently accommodating, teaching, feeding and caring for over 200 young people at their Kampala live-in campus.
This accredited charity receives no government funding. In addition to any funds raised, St John’s maintains a website for the charity and has been supporting its work for more than 10 years.
Come along on Sunday, June 12 at 2pm and enjoy stunning costumes, live music and great company. Tickets $15 adults and $5 for children under 14. Reserve yours by ringing Lyn Francis on 5952 5723. Seats not reserved will be available at the door.
All proceeds support RYDA's work. Find out more at www.blackdouglas.com.au/ryda
