Catholic Education Week in the Diocese of Sale will be celebrated from May 15-22, 2026.
Catholic schools will open their doors to the community offering open days and activities that highlight the rich learning and teaching taking place in schools every day.
This year's theme, "every school a home of peace", draws inspiration from the words of Jesus: "Peace I leave with you", says the Lord, "my own peace I give you" (John 14.27).
This theme invites school communities to reflect on the vital role that peace, hope and faith play in shaping lives and nurturing flourishing communities.
The theme speaks directly to the mission of Catholic education.
Catholic schools strive to be welcoming, inclusive, and supportive communities where students are nurtured to grow academically, spiritually, and socially.
During Catholic Education Week, schools will be sharing the message of peace in meaningful and creative ways.
Some schools have created peace walls featuring student artwork and reflections on what peace means within their school communities.
Others are engaging in social justice initiatives and fundraising projects that demonstrate peace in action through service, compassion, and solidarity.
Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited provides governance and support to 39 Catholic primary schools and five Catholic secondary schools in the Diocese of Sale educating more than 18,000 students.
Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for families and community members to experience first-hand what makes Catholic schools special places.
Families are warmly welcomed to contact their local Catholic school to learn more about tours and enrolment opportunities.
