The Rhyll Phillip Island Angling Club (RPIAC) has received a $10,000 grant through the State Government's Stronger Fishing Clubs grant program.

The club was one of several local clubs that successfully secured a grant.

"Our fishing clubs are gold, welcoming and inclusive and run by super passionate volunteer anglers," said local MP, Jordan Cruganle.

"We love this grant program that goes towards creating memorable experiences for our kids, families and fishing enthusiasts here in Bass and right across Victoria."

Albert Abram, President of RPIAC said the money would be used to upgrade their kitchen, enhancing the club's ability to host members and community events.

"The Rhyll-Phillip Island Angling Club is delighted to have been selected as a recipient of funding through the Victorian Fisheries Authority's Stronger Fishing Clubs grant program," he said.

"This support is a fantastic outcome for our club and our members, and we sincerely appreciate the ongoing investment in grassroots recreational fishing.

"The $10,000 grant will be directed towards upgrading our clubroom kitchen facilities.

"This upgrade will significantly enhance our ability to host members, visiting anglers, and community events, particularly during competition weekends and club functions," Albert said.

"Our clubrooms play an important role as a meeting place for the local fishing community, and improving these facilities will help us continue to provide a welcoming and functional space for all.

"The upgrade is currently in the planning phase, with works expected to be completed ahead of the next competition season.

We look forward to sharing more details as the project progresses."
