$75,000 repairs on the Newhaven boat ramp jetty have now finished.

Repairs on Newhaven's boat ramp have finished.

The two-week project cost $75,000 and will help extend the life of the ramp's jetty, with components replaced and repaired including: crossheads, corroded bolts, cross bracing connections, upper-level waler splices and installation of one new timber pile.

The project was paid for from boating licence and registration fees.

The ramp, off Seaview Street, is different to the Newhaven jetty managed by Parks Victoria next to Saltwater Restaurant.

In 2023 the community gave feedback to a draft plan for a multi-million-dollar upgrade of the boat ramp, which currently includes a two-lane concrete ramp, jetty, fish cleaning facilities, and parking.

Bass Coast Shire Council and Better Boating Victoria are currently developing detailed designs for that wider upgrade.
