Island netballers face tough competition from Dalyston -Under 11s
Phillip Island: 7 def by Dalyston: 17.
Saturday saw the Under 11s take on Dalyston in what was going to be a great test to see where our girls are at, heading into the last half of the season.
Ivy was named captain for the day and started the morning off with winning the coin toss.
We started the game well, getting our fair share of the ball into the right areas, but just unlucky with a couple of missed chances.
The pressure coming from Dalyston was terrific and shut down our free ball movement which caused us to rush our passes and not get into space on the court.
In saying that, the girls persisted with what we have been trying to do, but in the end, we weren’t able to settle and possess the ball long enough to create more chances for the goalers.
The final score of 17 – 7 wasn’t as bad as it seems, as we know we can play a better Phillip Island brand of netball and look forward to showing that on Saturday this week against Cora Lynn.
Thank you again to all the parents for getting the girls down to trainings and games so far this season.
The last half of the year will be exciting as we push for a finals birth and give it a shake.
Go Bulldogs!
Best on court: Milla and Ella.
