U13 Red
Saturday May 4, saw Island U13 Red come up against Fish Creek Red in sunny conditions.
The game was a tight one as both teams put strong players across the court.
The first half saw the island Reds battle to secure the ball into the goal third as their opponents put up a good defensive midcourt.
With strong centre passes and smart game play by Alexis, Madison and Sophia, island was able to feed the ball into the hands of shooters Hazel and Aliza for some brilliant goals to ensure the score was tied six all at half time.
With a slight shuffle of positions island took on the second half with determination.
Fighting hard to slow down their opponents' attack, the team managed to keep the score goal for goal as the clock ticked down.
With intercepts galore from Georgie, Aliza and Alexis and some brilliant shooting from Ella and Hazel the girls managed to keep the game a nail biter.
At the final whistle Fish Creek Red managed to just take the win.
Best on court for their versatility across the court in any position asked of them and brilliant shooting Aliza and Hazel.

U13 White
Phillip Island White team took on SLNC on Saturday with a win in an intense, low scoring game.
Both teams used their incredible defences to keep scoring shots to an absolute minimum.
Mid court was a dynamic battle with the ball constantly changing hands.
The girls' persistence and pressure was rewarded with a win when the buzzer sounded.
Awards this week went to Alana and Holly.
