Intense matchup: Island take on the Daly Magpies - C Grade
Dalyston: 46 def Phillip Island: 20.
The sun was shining.
We’re not sure if it came out to see Steph Krainer and Rachael Cameron make a return or wanted to give us a better chance to practice some new set plays.
Either way, no one was complaining.
With Dalyston top of the ladder the team knew it was going to be a tough game, but the girls were ready to get in the boxing ring and box they did.
From missed shots to a few tumbles the C Grade girls weren’t putting the gloves down.
Chloe and Karina, the defending duo, were working hard to stop the impressive Daly shooters.
Nikki was on fire and defending her player as if they were peaches and cream lollies.
Rach wasn’t letting a finger get in her way of getting a few intercepts.
Tori and Steph reunited again and were working the mid court feeding into the shooters, Laws the leopard and Rose the roadrunner.
The girls kept up the fight but as the past few weeks have shown, unfortunately the last quarter got away from them again.
The scores each week doesn’t reflect on how much pressure the girls have on court.
With only a few games left for the season the girls are keen to get another few wins under their belt.
Best on court was peaches and cream lovers Tori Cleeland and Nikki Williams (clearly trying to fight for the remaining ones) and GF sour worm Chloe Moxey.
