A Grade take on Dusties in season opener showdown
Phillip Island: 48 def Warragul Industrials: 37.
Phillip Island's A Grade hit the court on Saturday with high expectations and did not disappoint come the final siren.
From the first whistle the Bulldogs broke Warragul's centre pass to claim the first goal and never lost control of the game from that point.
It was great to see the coaches make good tactical use of the new rolling subs rule, keeping Warragul guessing with different lineups and combinations to further dominate the game.
Captain Jaclyn Clark led the Bulldogs with relentless defensive pressure, and a consistent mid-court and attacking game converted this pressure to the scoreboard.
A great start to the season and a boost heading into the next test against a strong Nar Nar Goon in two weeks.
Best on court: Anthea Bennett.
