U17s dominate against Warragul Industrials

An amazing start to the 2024 season - despite missing Sophia and Jazz - the U17s team worked extra hard showing us what they are capable of.

Their strength, determination and passion were evident, and even with a few new players on board they showed incredible team cohesion.

It took two quick goals to open the match, setting the tone and the flow which didn't stop until the end.

With Maya, Abby and Matilda in the mid court, the ball moved quickly and smoothly down the court, with lots of intercepts and deflections being converted to goals by Meika and Tilly.

Isla and Jasira showed dominance in the defence circle ensuring Warragul's score was kept low.

The new rolling subs rule was introduced and proved to be successful in allowing Ruby Mewitt and Ellie Hennesy to come in smoothy and relieve a bit of pressure from the hard-working team.

A fantastic start to the season with coaches Cath Huther and Carly O'Brien feeling happy with the fabulous result.

They look forward to seeing this team shine throughout the 2024 season as they aim for a third premiership win in a row.

Best on court: Meika White.
