The phrase "A little shopping ... for a lot of good!" perfectly captures the spirit of the Op Shop - every purchase, no matter how small, helps raise funds for projects that make a meaningful difference in the community. Rotary's volunteer-run Opportunity Shop has long combined affordable shopping with practical community impact, turning donated goods into support for people locally and beyond.
Customers will find a great range of quality, affordable clothing, household goods, books and unexpected treasures, in the well-organised new space created through the extraordinary efforts of Rotary members, Op Shop volunteers and generous community supporters.
Every purchase makes a difference, with funds raised going directly towards Rotary projects supporting local and international communities and people in need. Those projects include community initiatives on Phillip Island and in San Remo, support for the Rotary Rehabilitation Courtyard at Phillip Island Community Hospital, and humanitarian work such as clean-water programs in Timor-Leste.
Rotary Club President Gea Lovell said the Club was proud to open a store that would provide real value to the community in more ways than one.
"Our Op Shop offers amazing value, but it is about much more than shopping," she said.
"Every item purchased helps Rotary continue its work supporting important community projects and assisting people in need, both locally and internationally."
The club warmly invites residents and visitors to call in, explore the new store and meet the dedicated volunteers who make it all possible.
The Rotary Op Shop offers another reason to stop in, shop locally and be part of something positive.
