Close semi finals match for Island U17s

Phillip Island faced off against Tooradin in extremely windy conditions. Tooradin started strong, taking an early lead in the first quarter, however Phillip Island's defenders, Sophia and Isla, quickly neutralised their momentum, dominating the rebounds and working the shooting ring with excellent communication.

Despite their efforts, Tooradin ended the quarter up by one goal.

In the second quarter, Phillip Island shifted the game in their favour by effectively driving into space and developing a smooth flow of play. Maya, Till, and Meika were instrumental in this, while Jasira stepped up with strong defensive efforts.

Matilda joined Meika in goal shooting, where they exhibited flawless passing and scoring, which helped Phillip Island gain an edge.

The third quarter was marked by a rowdy Tooradin crowd, prompting umpires to issue warnings.

Phillip Island, however, maintained their focus and composure, with Jazzy putting on a stellar defensive performance.

Abby was brought into the mid-court, adding versatility, while the presence of Ruby and Ellie provided much-needed depth and reliability.

In the final quarter, tensions rose further as Tooradin players were cautioned to respect the umpires' decisions.

Phillip Island, keeping their cool, held onto their momentum and executed their game plan effectively.

Their collective effort resulted in a narrow but well-deserved victory, allowing them to advance confidently towards the preliminary finals.
