Senior thriller caps off perfect day for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs stood tall when it mattered most.
It was a fantastic day for the Phillip Island Football Club, with every Bulldogs side recording a victory over Koo Wee Rup.
The Under 16s got the day off to a great start with a strong win, while the Under 18s kept supporters on the edge of their seats, holding on to claim a thrilling one-point victory.
The Reserves produced a dominant performance to record a convincing win, setting the stage for an exciting Seniors clash.
In the Seniors, fourth placed Phillip Island took on third-placed Koo Wee Rup in what proved to be an outstanding contest from start to finish.
With plenty on the line as finals approach, neither side gave an inch in a match that remained close throughout.
The physical intensity boiled over at times, with several yellow cards issued and several players spending time off the ground.
Once the cards were handed out, the match settled, allowing both teams to focus on the football and produce a high-quality finish.
The Bulldogs stood tall when it mattered most, with Oliver Duggan taking several crucial marks in the final quarter before calmly converting his opportunities in important victory.
It was another outstanding team performance from Phillip Island, with players contributing right across the ground in one of the club’s best wins of the season.
Defeating the third-placed side has given the Bulldogs plenty of confidence and strengthened their push towards the finals in what promises to be an finish to the season.
