Coastal Access grants

Applications are open for the Coastal Public Access and Risk Grants program for 2022-23.

Grants of up to $150,000 are available for coastal Crown land managers, including volunteer committees of management and local governments, to reduce coastal risk through identification, mitigation and monitoring of risks.

Funds are available for projects such as risk assessment and management plans for safer access, repair or replacement of paths, stairways, boardwalks and access ramps, installation and improvement of public safety signage and access barriers as well as viewing platforms and lookouts.

Applications close on October 12. Details: marineandcoasts.vic.gov.au/grants/coastal-public-access-and-risk-grants.

Biosecurity feedback sought

The state government is looking for feedback on a discussion paper that sets out key topics to guide reforms to Victoria's biosecurity legislation.

The government said combining the laws relating to animals, plants and pests currently provided across multiple pieces of legislation into a single Biosecurity Act will help make everyone’s responsibilities clear.

Community members can complete a survey or make a submission by Sunday, October 9 via engage.vic.gov.au.

Rescue Station Arts Community Grant

State Coal Mine - Rescue Station Arts has been awarded a grant of $2000 for its work to improve mental health and wellbeing as part of Australia Post’s 2022 Community Grants Program.

The grant will fund their project Renewal, an art activity program for vulnerable community members. It is one of 70 community organisations across the country to receive a 2022 Australia Post Community Grant.

The full list of grant recipients and more information about the program is available at: auspost.com.au/grants.
