Phillip Island’s U13s proved that finals form can turn ladder positions on their head, knocking off third place by four goals in a thrilling first week of finals clash.
Coming in as the underdogs from sixth spot, the girls played with confidence and composure from start to finish.
The shooters stayed cool under pressure against some seriously tall defenders, while the mid-court defence created the all-important difference.
Down back, the defenders were rebounding machines, giving Phillip Island plenty of second chances.
Every player played their role in a fantastic whole-team performance.
And when the final whistle blew, the smiles said it all.

What a fantastic effort from the U11 girls.
After a hard-fought game, the girls went down by just two goals in overtime.
They worked incredibly hard, put into practice everything they have been working on at training, and showed great teamwork from start to finish.
So proud of their determination, effort and never-give-up attitude.
