Soccer Breakers win thriller in Jake Munday memorial match

Phillip Island have likely booked their place in the finals after a hard-fought win over Leongatha in the U17 mixed clash at Phillip Island.
With their finals hopes on the line, the Breakers were locked in an even contest through the first half.
The deadlock lifted after the break when Harley Drayton found the back of the net to seal the win in a well-played game from both sides.
The match is held in memory of former player Jake Munday, who tragically lost his life in a road accident.
His family have turned their heartbreak into a powerful message for young drivers, urging them to take the risk on the field and go for the goal, but never behind the wheel, and to get themselves and their mates home safely.

U12B Sharks
The Sharks were home this weekend for their clash against the Drouin Maroon White Dragons.
With nerves high and a teammate down, the Sharks struggled to find their rhythm early.
The Dragons played exceptionally well, scoring twice before half time and adding another two goals in the second half.
Despite multiple attempts, the Sharks found the Dragons’ defence too strong.
There were still some standout performances, including Zac, who never lets his position stop him from covering every inch of the pitch.
Another standout was new Shark, Van, who continues to improve in defence and was instrumental in shutting down several of the Dragons’ attacks, earning him a well-deserved Man of the Match.
With only a slim chance of finals, the Sharks are looking forward to what looks to be their final game of the season next week, followed by some well-earned celebrations.
