The senior team had a big act to follow, following on from the outstanding reserves win earlier in the day.

They too would come from third place and play a magnificent semi-final game against Trafalgar to book their place in the Grand Final, also against Drouin.

Having to win last week without their Best and Fairest winner from last season, they welcomed back Joris Kerstens who had shown all year that he is one of the most damaging players in the competition.

He would be the senior's only change heading in.

The Breakers would start on fire, with their Argentine superstar and golden boot winner, Fabri scoring the opener and again, showing that he could deliver on the biggest stage possible, as he has done all year.

The first half was relatively quiet after that, with the Breakers controlling things nicely.

They did pick up three yellow cards however, which forced them to tread carefully for the rest of the match.

And the injuries were starting to mount.

Adam Dean would be the first to come off while Leigh Young would join him early in the second half, with a fractured heel.

Nick Duyker and Cam Boulton also putting their bodies on the line and coming off second best.

The backline held up well, with Leigh, Joris, Miguel Soler and Jacob Gwynne all performing brilliantly.

Miguel putting in close to a best on ground display, while Jacob, the former Reserves coach and last year’s Grand Final MVP, had a spectacular game in defence also.

The Breakers midfield also set up the game, with Nick, Cam and our much beloved captain and Phillip Island's best bartender at North Pier, Marco, having dominant games.

The front three of Caco, Adam and Fabri provided all the park up front as they had done for the whole year.

And the super subs. Myka Sylvio, Jasper Saunders, Julian Pellegrinelli and Jacob Liatos coming on, bringing the energy and spark, and helping bring the boys to the finish line.

But let's not forget the keeper, Stuart Davies, who has proved to everyone this year that he is the best keeper in the competition.

He was spectacular last week with phenomenal saves and on the biggest stage, he kept a clean sheet (holding the other team goalless) to lead the Breakers to glory.
Just a month ago, they had suffered a six-goal defeat to the minor premiers, they lost to bottom of the table Wonthaggi, and would also go on to lose to their Grand Final opponents 5-0.

But they turned it around, and they brought the cup home!

What a season for the Breakers.

The Phillip Island Breakers Reserves Team headed into the Grand Final as slight underdogs, having finished third and narrowly beating Trafalgar in last week's semi to book their place in the Grand Final.

The Breakers started well, knocking the ball around and looking comfortable before U17s star Jasper Saunders chipped the keeper in the 18th minute and put the Breakers on the board first.

The ever-reliable backline of Oli Raso, Brad Newton, Cal Farman, and Cadell Tsioulakas were playing very well and giving Drouin very limited chances.

While the midfield trio of Nathaniel Cassells, Gareth Ellison (G-Train) and David were also causing havoc in the middle.

And the front three, Jasper, Harvey Jacobs and Angus were giving the Drouin defenders nightmares with their pace.

Hamish Farman and Charlie Anderson came off the bench and provided a spark to the game with Hamish the one assisting Jasper's incredible goal.

And Jay slotting in at left back, in close to a best-on ground performance.

The Breakers would go into halftime 1-0 but immediately on the back foot just five minutes into the second half when Cal gave away a penalty.

But the ensuing penalty kick would hit the post and the goalkeeper Alex would go on to make a miraculous save from the rebound, continuing his heroics from last week.

In the 74th minute, Jasper got in behind the defence and was brought down at the edge of the box, resulting in a red card to Drouin.

The Island are just holding on, moments away from back-to-back premierships, before miscommunication in defence leads to a Drouin goal in the 87th minute.

The season is about to come down to another 30 minutes of football.

And up steps the unlikeliest of heroes.

G-Train kicked the ball long, from the halfway line.

The ball sailed through the air and with the help of the wind, bounced over the keeper's head and into the back of the net.

An unbelievable goal in the last minute of the game made sure the cup would stay on the island.

Against all the odds, the boys had done it.

They fought. They battled. They believed and most importantly, the Cup is coming back to Phillip Island.
