Strong performance from U17s
Scores: Phillip Island: 55 def Cora Lynn: 24.
A great game for the U17s against Cora Lynn, playing with a full team as Jazzy and Sophia returned.
The game began with a close first quarter, however soon the girls found their flow and gained momentum throughout the game. With strong mid court skills from Maya, Abbey and Tilly, sharp passes moved the ball quickly into the goal circles.
Very accurate shots and great teamwork were shown by Meika and Matilda in the circle, along with Tilly towards the end of the game.
Strong defence from Isla, Sophia and Jasira and Jazzy prevented Cora Lynn from getting the ball down their end of the court.
Rolling subs were continually used throughout the game and all the players moved into their new positions cohesively with great versatility.
Sophia made a great comeback from injury and was awarded the Anzac Day medal from the referees for her superb defensive skills.
Best on court: Matilda Walton, Jasira Derham and Jazzy Mau.
