U13 Red battles hard, but miss out on Grand Final victory

Phillip Island U13 Red took the court against Kilcunda Bass in the Grand Final.

Mother Nature was not in a good mood for the final and dealt horrendous conditions for the Island Red's big day.

The girls were primed and ready to take on strong opponents, and gave everything they had throughout the game, with their steady and reliable game plan that had secured them their spot in the final.

It was brilliant game from both teams, and the team displayed both their superb talent and tenacity right up until the final siren.

Unfortunately, it was not their day and Kilcunda Bass took the win 13-6, and Phillip Island Red were awarded LDNA 2024 U13 Bottom Age runners up.

The team would like to thank coach Trish for her support, encouragement, nurturing and devotion to every team member, and her focus on ensuring an inclusive and positive team.

To the Island Red girls, Alexis, Sera, Miranda, Georgie, Sophia, Ella, Hazel, Madison and Aliza, each of you are stellar netballers, who week after week displayed sportsmanship, dedication and teamwork.

You should be so proud of everything you have accomplished this season.

Together you have gone from strength to strength every week and have become a formidable team, who worked hard for and deserved your place in the final.

Well done girls, we are so beyond proud of you all.
