The girls started the day off fresh and excited for their awaited game against last year's Premiership Champions Nar Nar Goon on their home turf.
The game was a tough one with Nar Nar Goon shooting a total of nine points in the first quarter to the island girls' one.
Elisha Blake was giving her all with the girls, filling in for an absent Coach Lawri Piera who was juggling a different kind of ball in Bendigo which meant the island were also missing her beloved offspring, Macy Piera.
Whilst the island girls looked like a long way off the mark scoreboard wise, they did continue to improve throughout the duration of the game.
It's a given that by the end of the season this tight knit bunch will be playing their best games yet.
A shoutout to Elisha for filling those shoes and to our two star players, Abi who scored this week's doggy dollars and all round superstar athlete Kate McClausland for being awarded this week's bowling award.
