U13s show competitive start to season

The day started out foggy and cold on the Easter weekend at the kennel for the island girls in their first game of the season.

It was evident from the centre tap that it wasn't going to be a walk in the park to defeat the Warragul girls, even on home turf.

It was a lead five to three in the first quarter, with Warragul seemingly taking it in their stride.

Macy Piera and Alice Martindale were both getting a few quick goals in for the island and making it seven to 12, in favour of Warragul.

Before the end of the last quarter Warragul had taken a lead of 16 to 25 and sealed the deal for the day. Congratulations to both teams, with the result proving a great competitive game for both sides.
