Victories for Island LDNA
Congratulations to Phillip Island White who secured a strong win against Fish Creek over the weekend.

U13 Red

Saturday saw the Island Reds take on Meeniyan District.

The weather was kinder this week and the girls took the court with confidence and determination from the first whistle.

Faced with some strong opposition, Island Red understood the assignment and delivered the strong game plan from Coach Trish.

With precise passes and strong confident intercepts through the midcourt by Georgie and Hazel, the goals began to build at the hands of Aliza and Madi throughout the first quarter.

The Island's inspiring defensive line in the second quarter of Miranda, Sera and Alexis saw Meeniyan struggle to secure their passes down the court, allowing the Island to deliver turnover after turnover resulting in a further lead.

The second half of the game saw Ella jump into centre and deliver brilliant strategy with the behind assistance of Miranda in WD to shake up the opposition's midcourt, allowing the Island the opportunity to increase the lead.

With an awe-inspiring dance around their opponents in the goal circle, strong passes and on point shooting by Aliza and Madi, the Island sealed the deal and at the final whistle secured the well-earned win.

Best on court: Miranda and Aliza.

Scores: Phillip Island Red: 27 def Meeniyan and District: 14.
