Final walk for The Voice

A candlelight walk on the eve of the referendum has been organised at the San Remo Labyrinth.

Lorraine Rodda, event organiser, said local communities are encouraged to hold candlelight walks on the Eve of the Referendum “to consider keeping Aboriginal and Torres Strait Peoples in our hearts as we reflect on the tremendous pressure of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a difference in these people's lives”.

The Deep Listening Walk is being held at the San Remo Labyrinth on Friday, October 13. Arrive at 7pm for a 7.15pm walk.

“We, the non-indigenous people of Australia, need to listen to our hearts, not only to our place in deciding if this Nation's past ways are not working,” Lorraine said.

“It is now critical to find new ways of meeting the needs of First Peoples across the Nation.”

Location: Drive along Beach Rd in San Remo and continue along the unmade section. The Labyrinth is on the right alongside a row of Cypress Trees.
