If you're finishing school, returning to study or considering a new career in 2027, Country Universities Centre (CUC) Bass Coast can help you take the next step with confidence.

CUC Bass Coast makes it easier to live, work and study locally, with free access to a welcoming study space, technology, academic mentoring and a supportive community of learners.

The Centre, located in Wonthaggi supports students studying degrees, diplomas and tertiary pathway qualifications through over 40 Australian universities and tertiary education institutions.

This November, CUC Bass Coast will welcome the Federation University Australia team to the Centre for two Study Hub Drop-In sessions, giving the community the opportunity to explore their study options, discover pathways into their preferred courses and learn more about the support available.

Partners

CUC Bass Coast Centre Director Sarah Bourke said that while the Centre supports students from a wide range of tertiary institutions, its partnership with Federation University continues to play an important role in expanding local study opportunities.

"As a local study hub, we support students from a wide range of institutions. But given our proximity to Federation University's Gippsland campus, it makes sense that nearly a third of our students are studying with Federation University."

One example of this partnership in action is the successful place-based nursing program developed in partnership with Federation University and Bayside Health, which enables local students to undertake their university studies online or at CUC Bass Coast, access assessment and study support locally, and complete practical learning and placements at Wonthaggi Hospital.

Since 2022, more than 60 students have registered with the Centre through the Wonthaggi nursing program, with the first intake graduating earlier this year.
This model has also opened the door for other tertiary partners.

From 2027, Monash University will offer a new three-year Bachelor of Allied Health in Wonthaggi, creating a local pathway into further study in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Podiatry.

Sarah encouraged anyone considering future tertiary education to explore their options.

"If tertiary study is on your mind for 2027, now is a good time to start a conversation.

"You don't need to have everything worked out before you contact us."
