Young artists take centre stage Cup Weekend exhibition
Creativity knows no age.
Creativity knows no age, and this Cup weekend, the Arts Society Phillip Island Region (ASPIR) is celebrating the imagination and artistic talents of our community's youngest artists.
The ASPIR Cup Weekend Exhibition runs from Friday October 30 to Tuesday November 32026, at Berninneit in Cowes.
As part of its annual Cup Weekend Exhibition, ASPIR is placing a special focus on young artists aged 17 and under, recognising the importance of encouraging creativity and providing opportunities for young people to share their work with the wider community.
Art offers young people a wonderful way to express themselves, explore new ideas and develop confidence in their own unique perspectives. Whether through colour, shape, texture or storytelling, every young artist brings something individual to their work.
Providing opportunities for young people to exhibit alongside established artists helps foster a vibrant and inclusive arts community, while celebrating the next generation of creative talent across Phillip Island and the surrounding region.
The judge this year is Ben Winspear, with prizes offered in 10 categories.
Visitors to the exhibition will also enjoy a diverse collection of works by ASPIR members, showcasing the depth of artistic talent within our local community.
The community is warmly invited to come along, enjoy the exhibition and celebrate the creativity of artists of all ages.
Awards include Best in Show, Best Painting, Sustainable Environment Award, Best Other Medium, Best Photography, Best 3D, Youth Award, People's Choice, Junior Art Awards and five highly commended prizes.
The awards are sponsored by: Bendigo Community Bank, Phillip Island RSL, Westernport Water, Ray White Real Estate, Phillip Island Winery, Brinnie T Design, Flowers of Phillip Island and Lisa McLure Artist.
