Phillip Island Nature Parks will be conducting a 1080
fox baiting program from 15th August until 25th
December 2016 to help protect Phillip Island’s wildlife.
Fox baiting programs are strictly
controlled by the Victorian
Government and only approved
registered fox bait types are used.
In accordance with strict safety
protocols, the baits will be buried,
bait sites marked, warning signage
placed at all formal access points
to these areas and adjoining
neighbours notified. Baits will be
checked regularly and any remaining
baits will be destroyed.
Dog owners must ensure their
pets do not access private rural
properties or Phillip Island Nature
Parks’ land where baiting signs
Domestic dogs are at risk if they
eat a fox bait. Contact your local
veterinarian immediately if you
believe your dog has eaten a fox bait.
